Program overview

ABOUT THE
PROGRAM.

The primary purpose and goal of the Advanced Esthetics Program is to rapidly train students to have a strong and advanced foundation in esthetics and medical esthetics. Using an up-to-date career text, students begin with introductory topics such as science basics, infection control, manipulative skills, safety judgements, proper work habits and the attitudes necessary for competency in entry-level job skills. Students are trained to receive state licensure and gainful employment. This is a 750 clock-hour course that may run 23 weeks (full-time) or 35 weeks (part-time).

How you’ll learn

A combination of lecture, problem solving, question and answer, role-playing, competitions, student presentations and projects, classroom activities and games, demonstrations and student participation. Instruction is supplemented with guest artists, visual aids and other instructional techniques. Exams are given at the end of each unit of study, and practical procedures for each unit are evaluated by the instructor.

Method of instruction

Theory and practical content is taught through reading, online content, in-person training, lecture, video media, computer-based learning activities and in-person demonstrations by instructors or licensed professionals. Online lectures and demonstrations (live or virtual) use the CIMA platform and Zoom where applicable, with reading assignments, practice quizzes, games and videos assigned for every chapter. All methods of delivery are also taught in person, and all practical applications are reviewed by a licensed instructor. Practical evaluations and mock exams are held in person in a proctored environment. A laptop or other electronic device is required to access CIMA, Zoom and other learning platforms.
